Digital launch of capacity building component of SPPU

Mrs Aruna M Katara, President, Hope Foundation and Research Centre was invited to Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s digital launch of capacity building component of Savitribai Phule Pune University which has been granted under RUSA 2.0 scheme of Central Government.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Aruna Katara said that as an educationist she applauded the initiatives, like these, taken by the government to improve higher education in the country. She extended the full support and cooperation of Hope Foundation and Research Centre and its institutes to the SPPU-Research Park Foundation’ (SPPU-RPD that will act as an incubator to help convert ideas into Business propositions thereby encouraging budding entrepreneurs, embellish employability foster outreach programs and strengthen international tie-ups.

SKILLING INDIA : ENHANCING EMPLOYABILITY QUOTIENT

Mrs Aruna M Katara, President, Hope Foundation and Research Center (Hope Foundation) was welcomed as one of the panelists at The Times Vice-Chancellors’ Conclave. She spoke about how today’s education must transcend the class, moving away from conventional methods of rote learning and focus on honing skills that the industry is looking at.

She emphasized that the teaching-learning process should focus on enhancing employability quotient inculcating values of professionalism and commitment. The idea is to focus on academics that ought to focus on a more practical learning rather than merely theoretical approach.

I²IT NSS Camp

Students from I²IT participated in a National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp at Jambawade Village in Maval Taluka. The focus of this camp was participating in various social outreach programs like substance de-addiction awareness, cleaning the village, girl education encouragement and building earthen dams for water conservation.
During the camp, competitions were held for students from local schools followed by teaching sessions in Science and Math. Students and villages benefited from this campus. A lot of help and encouragement was provided by the Gram Sarpanch Mrs Sarika Gojage and other members of the grampanchayat.
Under the initiative of Digital India, an app is being developed that will help the villagers share and seek required information.
Our student representatives were Mayur Surkar(NSS Unit head I²IT), Omkar Masal, Radha Yelikar and Ajay Shelar(NSS unit head RSCOE) and they helped co-ordinate the camp.
