 The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association with its corporate office in New York City and its operations center in Piscataway, New Jersey. It was formed in 1963 from the amalgamation of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers. Today, it is the world’s largest association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members in chapters around the world. IEEE Student Branch provides an opportunity for IEEE Student members to begin networking in their areas of interest and future profession. There are over 3,000 Student Branches in over 100 countries, globally.

I²IT IEEE Student Branch was established with the aim of inculcating a sense of technical awareness amongst its student members.

There are several key positions: the Branch Officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary), the Branch Counsellor (or Faculty Advisor), and the subcommittee Chairs. While each has somewhat different duties, it is important to work together as a team.

I²IT IEEE Student Branch plans different events and activities for the students.
These activities include panel discussions, workshops, guest lectures, project competitions and other exciting events.
